>Each of the 32 elevators are inlaid with a different kind of wood from a different part of the world. Other buildings have followed this model, including the Williams Tower in Houston, Texas which has different marble from different parts of the world in each elevator.

  The Chrysler Building is a perfect art deco masterpiece. The night time illumination is a beautiful sight as well.

  I visited NYC in late 03 and although i was incrdibly impressed with all the skyscrapers i visited (particularly the Empire State) no of them come close to the beauty of the Chrysler. I think its the most beautiful building ever created and to see its chrome panels shining in the bright winter sunshine was an amazing sight. I got as far as the lobby but could get no further. What a shame.
