This has always been and interesting building. Sitting on top of Grand Central Station and acting as a book end as you gaze south on Park Ave it features in many movies. I remember when it was the PanAm Building that had a heliport on the roof to ferry the jet set from Mid-town to area airports without traffic. I also remember the horrible day in 1977 when one of the helicopters tipped over and the blade killed four passengers waiting to board and the debris from the shattered blades rained down on the street below killing a pedestrian.
